About

Cristian Deluxe

I'm a Staff-level product/platform engineer for systems where production judgment matters: high-traffic applications, Kubernetes/GCP operations, reliability-sensitive migrations, and AI features with explicit evaluation and failure handling.

I work remotely from Cáceres, Spain, with strong overlap across US time zones. My core stack is TypeScript, React, Node.js, SQL, and GCP/Kubernetes; the work I care about is the kind where you build it, run it, verify it, and keep it healthy in production.

Background

Self-taught, production-tested, and still learning. A recent example: I went from no Solr ownership to running a zero-downtime production search-engine cutover. Long-running work includes systems supporting Alaska Airlines (30K+ employees), Kitco (24M annual users), ZeroHedge, and others. The common thread is ownership across product, backend, frontend, infrastructure, and production risk.

What I do today

Staff-level engineering for product/platform systems: production reliability, migrations, incident response, AI-assisted workflows, and technical leadership. Core expertise across TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js, SQL, GCP/GKE, and Kubernetes/Helm, with extensive experience in auth, payments, search, caching, and high-traffic content systems.

Building a team that owns production?

I am exploring remote Staff / Senior Staff product and platform roles where technical judgment matters after the deploy, not only before it.

A useful first message

Send the role, product context, team shape, location constraints, and interview process. I will reply with the most relevant evidence from the systems I have shipped and operated.
